Premature 2017 Oscar Predictions
I had to take a slight detour from the awards season to present this, my premature Oscar predictions for the next year. This is due to the epic rage caused by Sundance 2016 hit; Birth of A Nation, written, directed, produced and starred in by Nate Parker.
It's the most expensive deal made for a film at the renowned festival, with Fox Searchlight buying it out for a hefty $17.5 Million.
So for that here are my predictions and since I am feeling lazy, I've decided to let my predictions just stay put rather than be explained and analyzed. I have made these predictions on the basis of early reviews, interests from all quarters as well as a mix of understanding what the Academy is most likely to like/do [post this years Oscar so White fiasco] as well as what the pundits feels have the best chances.
I have only listed nominations for the film, director and acting awards. Though on a preferential vote, Best Picture can go from 5 nominees to 10; I have taken the full quota.
Also winners are highlighted in Bold and Italics.
